York House is situated in the picturesque market town of Dereham, Norfolk. The home can accommodate up to 43 residents and has been rated ‘Good’ by CQC. We can provide short-term, respite care or longer term support at the home.
The home York House has a warm and cosy atmosphere, and is always full of laughter from both residents and staff.
There are bedrooms on the ground and first floors with a lift. We have large communal living areas and a dining room where we provide healthy, nutritious meals. We are delighted that our kitchen has recently received a 5 star food safety certificate, which supports our commitment to providing a high quality service to our residents.
The home benefits from a spacious mature garden which blooms beautifully in the summer, and is situated only a short distance from Dereham town centre.
Dereham is a charming town with many independent businesses and attractions including a swimming pool, golf club, cinema and a range of high street shops, banks and doctors surgeries. It has excellent road and bus links to travel to Norwich or the nearby towns of Fakenham and Kings Lynn.
We are proud to offer people in Dereham and the surrounding areas a safe place to call home, where they can get any extra support and guidance they require. Our trusted friendly staff are proud to provide person-centred care and put the needs of our residents first at all times.
It’s important to us to support our residents to lead independent lives and play an active part in their own self-care. We believe in dignity, privacy and choice within our home - we work within their home, they do not live within our workplace.
All aspects of this care home are excellent. Very well managed, wonderful caring staff. All the residents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity. There is always laughter and a sense of homeliness, which is apparent from the moment you walk through the door. - Julie C

Yorke House is an extremely well-run care home. All the staff are friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. Up until lockdown, entertainment was varied and enjoyable. Cleanliness is very good, and the laundry service is excellent. All in all, I know we made the right choice for Mum. - B B
Very caring and supportive care home during this unpleasant, traumatic period. - W H
Mum has received good respite care when it was most needed. Unfortunately, coronavirus has limited the activities offered which Mum enjoyed. The staff have been most accommodating and respectful. Would recommend. - A C
