Heathcote is a residential elderly care home on Unthank Road, just a stone's throws away from Norwich city centre in Norfolk. The facility can provide a home for up to 29 residents, in a beautiful building complete with private gardens and modern patios. Heathcote provides person-centered care for our residents, ensuring a range of enriching activities to suit their likes and interests, good food, and a wonderful atmosphere which really makes it feel like home.
Heathcote has been rated ‘Good Overall’ by the Care Quality Commission in its latest inspection, receiving an ‘Outstanding’ rating in the caring segment of the report. The report states: ‘We saw many examples of outstanding and positive caring interactions between the staff and people living in the service. People were able to express their views and staff listened to what they said and took action to ensure their decisions were acted on. Staff continued to strongly protect people’s privacy and dignity.
The close proximity of the home to the city allows our residents to enjoy shows at the nearby Theatre Royal where we are a sponsor for their accessible performances; shopping trips, meals at many different restaurants and cafes, so they have the chance to experience all the city has to offer. As well as all the modern conveniences of a city, Norwich is a hub of culture and history, with a number of museums; art galleries, and riverside walk so our residents can experience the rich history of the area which dates back to Medieval times.
Mum is very content at Heathcote and now thinks of it as home. The staff are very caring and she enjoys the banter with them. She often comments that she couldn’t wish for anywhere better. Overall, we are very satisfied with the level of care that Mum receives and would definitely recommend Heathcote. - Steve W
