We are so lucky to have the amazing team of staff that we do, led by our talented manager Julie Tyler. Our team are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our residents have a brilliant birthday.
We wanted to show off some of the amazing creations by our kitchen team at The Gables, who put in an immense effort to tailor our residents cakes to their individual histories and interests.
We wanted to say a huge thank you to the team who work tirelessly everyday to ensure our residents receive the highest quality person-centred care possible. You are all superheroes!
Our resident Jean is the queen of all things crochet so our staff couldn’t resist sharing this amazing crochet themed cake they made for her. She absolutely loved it!
Our wonderful resident Eric at The Gables celebrated his birthday recently, and was over the moon when he was greeted by his surprise birthday cake.
Eric used to be a headteacher, as well as a music teacher so our chef Heath created this amazing grand piano cake for him. He absolutely loved it!
June was treated to a pretty-in-pink cake complete with her name and ribbon top to mimic the look of a girly birthday present.
It meant a lot that staff went to this extra effort for her and she was very grateful. We love this photo!
Our wonderful resident Sheila is the kind of lady who appreciates the classics, so for her birthday our team made her this absolutely incredible Victoria Sponge with buttercream and fresh strawberries.
She was absolutely thrilled!
Our kitchen staff go to extreme lengths to ensure each birthday cake is personal to our resident on their special day.
Our resident Phil worked as a farmer in the Fenland area for the majority of his life, so chef Heath made his cake something very close to his heart. He recreated the tractors Phil remembers fondly, with news of the cake even making it’s way to Farmers Weekly magazine.
