The Gables rated Good in all areas in PAMMS assessment

We’re delighted to share that The Gables has received very positive feedback following a visit from Cambridgeshire County Council’s Adult Social Care team. Following the visit, known as a PAMMS assessment (Provider Assessment and Market Management Solution), the home has been rated as Good in all areas of the assessment.

PAMMS assessments are used to help Local Authorities assess the quality of care delivered by providers of adult social care services.

All care homes in England and Wales are regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). However, there are some care homes that have not been inspected by CQC for some time. Local Authorities also undertake regular assessments of the care provided for residents in care homes. Following the assessment, a summary report and ratings are made publicly available on the PAMMS Provider Portal https://www.pamms.org/adassportal/search.jsp.

PAMMS reports are widely used by statutory agencies and in many cases are provided more recently than CQC inspection reports reflecting a more up to date analysis of the home.

Is a PAMMS audit and CQC inspection the same?

No. But there is a close relationship between the PAMMS assessment and CQC's current inspection requirements. The PAMMS assessment is a supportive tool intended to help providers prepare for a CQC visit. The assessment report will show any high achieving service areas. Similarly, any areas that are not achieving the same high standards are identified and support is put in place to get positive results.
