We’ve been overwhelmed with the support of our local businesses who have made special efforts to assist our staff and ensure our residents are still getting the entertainment they’re used too.
At Chiswick House our residents were going to miss out on their florist workshop due to the lockdown as teacher Chris could not attend. However, being the generous person Chris is – donated all of the materials needed for the workshop.
With a no-contact delivery to the door of the home, our staff were able to hold the workshop themselves and give our residents the workshop they were promised. Thank you Chris, that our residents didn’t have to miss out!
We also wanted to say a huge thank you to our local Homebase store – who have donated the entire contents of their garden centre to our Norwich residents as they’ll be closed for the foreseeable.
The flowers, seeds and plants are being shared between Chiswick House, Laurel Lodge, and Heathcote Care Home. Our gardening clubs will be in full swing getting their gardens ready for Summer, allowing them to maintain fitness whilst being outside in the fresh air.
Another huge thank you to QD Stores in Gorleston who donated the contents of their garden centre section to Park House in Great Yarmouth. On Thursdays our gardening club are making use of the wonderful selection of plants and seeds, and have begun designing their garden so it’s beautiful in bloom in time for Summer.
Every Thursday our residents will be getting more and more involved in the garden, enjoying the sunshine and getting the benefits of fresh air. Here are some photographs of all the wonderful plants QD gave us, and our residents planting them in their garden.
We’re very thankful to McDonalds and Greggs in Norwich who have delivered drinks for free to our staff group at Laurel Lodge. It’s a boost to our staff that they have the support of local companies, and wonderful to see their hard work being appreciated by the local community.
We’re also incredibly grateful to Accentuate Photography who have gifted a photoshoot to the manager of Laurel Lodge – Danielle Bullent and her family.
It really brightens our staff’s day and we’re really proud to be part of a community which supports our staff who are carrying out their jobs in the face of Covid19.
A massive thank you to Helen Tann – a chiropodist in Norfolk who donated her backstock of personal protective equipment to Kings Lynn Residential Home. She generously donated gloves, masks and aprons to the home as she’s unable to use them in the current situation.
We wanted to say a massive thank you for the generosity of our local community who have proven we are all stronger together, and can face this as a collective. We’re experiencing an amazing amount of community spirit and we wanted to shout about the amazing things happening in our region!
