Our residents have had to miss out on a number of events, social interractions and trips that they would usually experience in the summer – due to the lockdown. They’ve been missing out on theatre trips, cream teas by the beach, and afternoon teas in their favourite cafes. But our staff weren’t going to let them miss out on their favourite activities.
The team at Kings Lynn led by our wonderful manager Jodi Collins sprang into action. Our amazing activities coordinator organised a wonderful party for our residents and turned the dining room into a Wonderland to give them a truly unique experience.
The dining room was decorated top to bottom with balloons, and playing cards to give a true Alice in Wonderland experience. It was complete with staff dressed as our residents favourite characters; it’s not every day you get to dine with the likes of the Queen of Hearts, the living playing cards and Alice herself.
Our residents had a lovely lunch with all their favourite treats and the whole event was quite the spectacle, with staff providing hats and wigs for our residents to join in the fun. They had a splendid lunch and enjoyed a lovely time.
We are so proud of our staff for putting in such an amazing effort to create a brilliant event for our residents. It means so much to them, and to us as a company – that we have staff with such strong bonds with our residents and are willing to go above and beyond to provide them with unique and person-centred experiences.
