To ensure our residents don’t feel they’re missing out on holiday season our staff at Kings Lynn decided to turn the home into a cruise ship for the day!

Complete with tropical decorations, Hawaiian food and the soundtrack of the sea our residents enjoyed a wonderful party and lunch which was like taking a holiday.

It’s important for us to provide exciting experiences for our residents whilst in our care, to provide person-centred activities tailored to their likes and desires. So when our staff heard our residents wanted the feeling of going on a holiday, they couldn’t resist going all in!

Staff made a banquet of delicious treats for our residents to enjoy a tropical themed sit down meal, as well as an array of cocktails for those who wanted to partake, and mocktails.  It was a lovely afternoon full of celebration and happiness, with our residents dancing together and with staff.

We’re very proud of our staff for taking what our residents wanted to heart and not letting them miss out on wonderful experiences due to the lockdown.  They may not be able to go on the holidays they had planned this year due to the impact of coronavirus on the world, but we’re proud to say we try and make up for this wherever possible with an exciting array of new activities, as well as our residents old favourites.
