Belamacanda is a care home for people with physical and/or learning disabilities in Little Clacton, this July the home celebrates its 30th birthday, and it is going to be a superb event!

Home manager Mike Melton from Ipswich said “We really wanted to mark the occasion, some of our residents have formed their own party planning committee and have come up with some fantastic ideas”.

Weather permitting, the celebrations will take place on Friday 17th July, outside of the Home in view of, and at the centre of, the local community. “We have invited all of our neighbours and we are looking forward to putting on a bit of a show for them” said Ian Saffill, 54 and chair of the residents’ planning committee.

Belamacanda will open its doors to the public from 12pm to 3pm for a BBQ and entertainment including local magician Magic Marvo and TOP UK 80s tribute act POPGUN.

“The residents were over the moon that POPGUN agreed to attend” said Mike Melton “with it being an eighties’ themed party POPGUN are the perfect act to host the event and they have been incredibly generous, we thank them for their involvement and cannot wait to meet them in person”.

Simon Lipscombe, Phil Maher, Mark Key and Matt Young of Essex pop/rock band POPGUN said “we are thrilled that Belamacanda has asked us to play at their 30th birthday this year and we can’t wait to meet the residents and put on a great show”.

Belamacanda welcomes the local community, residents from neighbouring care homes, and social care professionals to join them on the day, asking only that they RSVP to Mike Melton by email: belamacanda@blackswan.co.uk
