This is something our manager at Park House – Sara Pearce – wanted to trial. She began the ‘Pimp My Zimmer Frame‘ initiative at the home in Great Yarmouth after lock down began.
Not only does this help represent our amazing residents individual personalities but it also creates an awareness of their walking aid in their general day to day life. The study suggested that because of this, it also helps to reduce falls in elderly users.
One home in Essex who previously implemented the initiative has stated their falls have gone down by 60% and residents with Dementia find it particularly useful as they can easily recognise the frame as their own.
We have many care homes throughout the East of England, providing high-quality care to our residents. Get in touch with our team today.
