Our residents throughout Essex were bowled over by the amazing effort of staff to ensure the Platinum Jubilee celebrations were unforgettable!

Belamacanda Care Home

At Belamacanda Care Home in Essex, our residents were treated to an amazing week of jubilee-themed activities to prepare them for their in-house party for residents and their loved ones!

This special occasion saw our residents come together with Activity Coordinator Natasha to create an amazing host of decorations, and make sure the home was looking amazing for their in-house celebration which featured a delicious buffet courtesy of our amazing kitchen team, complete with all of the classics!

Not only that but our residents even assisted with the food, baking and decorating their own cupcakes for the occasion – and very tasty they were too!

As well as this residents were able to invite their loved ones in to share in this special celebration, making this a particularly poignant occasion for our residents following the Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.

We are incredibly proud of the amazing team at Belamacanda who put in an amazing effort to ensure our residents were celebrating the platinum jubilee in style!

Drummonds Care Home

At Drummonds Care Home in Feering, Essex our residents got creative to make their own amazing outfits ahead of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June!

By recycling existing straw hats, our residents created their own custom-made Union Jack hats for the occasion, alongside doing some amazing artwork to go on display for the event.  Residents created a gorgeous piece of art displaying the Queen, cupcakes, bunting and even a royal version of the Black Swan Care Group logo!

As well as this our residents worked with our wonderful pottery and sculpture teacher Shaun, who in his recent workshops with residents, has been assisting them to create a one-of-a-kind Jubilee themed animation using artwork created by residents themselves!

Staff ensured residents were spoilt across the week with an amazing lunch buffet, jubilee themed cakes and cookies for the occasion, crafts and workshops and a wonderful celebration featuring music and entertainment!

We wanted to thank our staff for all the effort they put into making this day extra special for our residents – well done!
