When the government recommended that anyone over seventy isolate themselves for up to twelve weeks, we came to the conclusion that this would lead to a lot of older people being socially isolated and feeling lonely.
We understand that these guidelines have been put in place to protect the most vulnerable within our society, but we also know their are a number of physical and cognitive conditions which can be exacerbated greatly by being alone.
We wouldn’t like to think of any elderly people in our region feeling or experiencing this, so we came up with a plan. For our homes that have empty rooms wouldn’t it be a fantastic idea to offer them to the elderly who are being told to isolate themselves?
Not only does it mean they’re not lonely or feeling the negative effects of isolation, but they’ll also be in a sterile clean environment full of people who are trained in infection control and a host of other modules relevant to the current situation.
If you provide self-care at home and would be interested in being a part of our community for up to 12 weeks we are providing a reduced-rate isolation package which will provide a bedroom, food and drink, entertainment and a schedule of activities and social stimulus to ensure you’re never bored.
We believe this would be a wonderful opportunity for our residents and any over 65’s in East Anglia who’re feeling isolated to make great friendships that will last for years to come. If this is something you or a loved one may be interested in please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We have many care homes throughout the East of England, providing high-quality care to our residents. Get in touch with our team today.
