As part of a local Community Champions campaign, Morrisons have donated garden gifts to our residents group at York House in Dereham, Norfolk.

Morrisons donated sunflower seeds and seed trays to our gardening club.

Our residents were over the moon to be surprised with an amazing sunflower growing kit from their local supermarket, arranged by our local Community Champions.

We have a lot of green-fingered residents at York House who are only too happy to get out in the garden at the earliest opportunity. Our resident gardeners even took part in a recycling project recently turning old car tyres into pots for planting.

York House residents enjoyed planting their sunflower seeds.

So it put huge smiles on their faces to receive a lovely set of sunflower seeds from their local supermarket, planting trays and sunflower logbooks so they can keep track of their plants growth and see which residents sunflower grows the tallest.

Residents loved planting their sunflowers ready to be transplanted to the garden.

This is a lovely ongoing project which our residents are excited to be involved in. They were also treated to a lovely nature themed poem by the amazing Community Champion in charge of the project – the lovely Nicky Maycock.

We wanted to send our sincerest thanks to Nicky, as well as Morrisons for their generosity. You’ve made our residents very happy and we cant wait to share the sunflowers progress with you as they grow through social media.
